Resource and Enrichment Center
The Resource and Enrichment Center is the nerve center of our Special Education programme, which is uniquely integrated into mainstream classes. We are able to achieve this integration by deploying our trained Special Education teacher into classes to observe and work with special needs students. These students sit in mainstream classes taught by grade teachers, affording them a sense of normalcy, while cultivating in our average students a sense of empathy, patience and understanding. At St Hugh’s we have tried, tested and proved a protocol for quietly and efficiently pulling aside these special needs students for group or individual therapy and attention. In these special sessions, concepts taught in mainstream classes are reinforced using our special resources and teaching methods. This way, no child is ever left behind.
