Letter to parents – Easter Term 2012

17 January 2012

Dear Parents:

Grace and peace be with you!

It is my hope that this new term has started well, and will get better and better as we progress.

This term will be a much shorter term than the Christmas Term, and there will be much for your children to learn, do and achieve both in class, and through their co-curricular activities. We can all look forward to wonderful things from our children, as they continue to grow and develop here at St. Hugh’s.

School Counsellor
For this term we will start working with our School Counsellor, Mr. Alexis Goffe who is a Masters Level Counselling Psychologist who has recently returned to Jamaica and has agreed to work with St. Hugh’s on a voluntary basis. He will be with us each Tuesday from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. He will work with class groups and small groups. If individual counseling is recommended, it will be with your knowledge and permission. I am sure that this new relationship will bear much good fruit, and we can all see this as another way we can give of our best to our children as we nurture them here at school.

Easter Term Reports
For this Easter Term, we will have an End of Term Report. This report will have a grade for Class Work / Home Work and Tests. There will be no Easter Term Exams, so we will not have an exam grade. There will be a general comment. At the end of the Summer Term (June 2012), we will return to our more comprehensive format, as was done for the Christmas Term Reports.

For this term I will not be in office for the week of February 6-13. During this time I will complete my journey as a member of the Continuing Indaba Team for the Anglican Church, a process to which I was committed before I started working with St. Hugh’s. For this time period, Mrs. Pearl Taylor will be acting as Principal.

Please continue to keep in touch with me if you have queries, concerns, or suggestions via email (swrightshps@gmail.com), at our monthly Coffee Mornings or by simply visiting with me in the office.

Sincerely,

Sasha Wright, M.Ed., M.A.
